Pont d'Espagne Winter Landscape Wooden Framed Poster A2
took this photo during a Christmas walk at Pont d'Espagne in the French Pyrenees. It was a classic winter day with a lot of mist and snow falling steadily while I was out. The shot features the old stone bridge built into the side of the mountain, surrounded by frosted pine trees. Very few things can compare to the serenity of a walk on a snowy day; the silence is almost deafening.
Despite its appearance, the photo is not monochrome. I haven't stripped the saturation or applied a filter—the scene was simply naturally devoid of colour that day. Between the heavy grey mist, the dark stone of the bridge, and the fresh white snow covering the pines, the landscape provided its own stark, minimalist palette. It’s a rare moment where the world looks exactly like a black and white film photograph in real life.
The print is produced on Premium Semi-Glossy paper. This allows the image to keep its details and rich earth tones without too much glare from reflections, which makes it pleasant to look at in all lightings.
